On April 25, the Fifth Standing Council of the Ninth China Leather Association and the 2024 National Leather Industry Association Work Conference were held in Lanshan County, Hunan Province. More than 200 representatives from more than 160 units, including the chairman, vice chairman and executive director of China Leather Association, heads of leather industry associations (chambers of commerce) across the country, government representatives of leather industry characteristic areas, experts from institutes and universities, leather industry-related enterprises and media, attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by the China Leather Association, co-organized by the Hunan Leather Industry Association, and undertaken by the Lanshan County People's Government.

Xie Jinglin, chairman of the Yongzhou CPPCC in Hunan Province, Long Xiangyang, secretary of the Lanshan County Party Committee, Huang Zhengjun, member of the Standing Committee of the Lanshan County Party Committee and deputy county magistrate, and Li Taohu, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Lanshan County People's Congress, also attended the meeting.

The theme of this conference is "Innovation Empowers New Quality Development". The purpose of the meeting is to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the national "Two Sessions", promote the industry to actively change the development mode, adhere to the guidance of scientific and technological innovation, accelerate the formation of new quality productivity, and realize the high-quality development of the leather industry; Focus on the current key work of various regions and associations and chambers of commerce in the leather industry, exchange economic operation and development suggestions of the industry, and explore new momentum for the development of the industry. The meeting is divided into two parts, the first part: the macroeconomic situation and the operation of the leather industry analysis and prospects, leather logo innovation work report, review of the 2025 "Modern China" International Shoes, Bags and Apparel Fashion Exhibition proposal, the second part: local association work exchanges. Zhang Xiwen, deputy secretary of China Leather Association, and Zhang Yan, secretary general, presided over the meeting respectively.
